How to Create a Poll in WhatsApp Chat on iOS and Android
Here's how to create a poll on WhatsApp:
Go to WhatsApp and open the conversation in which you want to propose a poll,
Click on the paper clip icon (on Android), or on the “+” (on iOS) then select Poll,
Start creating your survey, adding a question, then several answer options,
Click the paper airplane icon at the bottom right of the screen (Android), or Send (iOS), to post your poll to the discussion.
WhatsApp polls’ management
1. One-vote polls
The poll creator can now ask members to vote only once, disabling multiple votes. To do this, simply deactivate the Allow multiple responses option when configuring the survey (see the image above).
2. Searching for polls within a discussion
You forgot to vote in the previous poll of your family discussion, and 300 new messages have been sent since? No need to scroll for 5 minutes! It is now possible to use the search function integrated into WhatsApp to find the poll in question.
To find a poll, go to the Discussions tab, click on the search bar, and select Polls. You will thus find all the polls carried out within your various discussions. Click on the poll in question to be able to answer it.
3. Sending notifications with each survey response
To make it easier to track results, you now receive a notification each time someone takes your survey. You can also access the total number of votes, via the poll details.
